Google today added the ability to create personalized Mini emoji that resemble device owners. After people take a selfie, Gboard will use “a combination of machine learning and artistry” to generate illustrated stickers for individual users. The machine learning automatically suggests skin tone, hair styles, and accessories that can be fine-tuned after the fact. Google says Minis support different types of head coverings, facial hair, eyewear, freckles, wrinkles, and more. The tool creates three versions of each Mini, including “bold” and “sweet” for when users want a different take on their little character. Google says the new version of Gboard with Minis for Android and iOS is rolling out to all users starting today.
