Facebook today made its free Find WiFi service available to more people around the world. Facebook has been testing the tool in select regions since last year. The service helps mobile users find and log into free public WiFi networks, particularly those that have shared their login details with Facebook. The idea is to help people on metered data plans access WiFi when possible, though Facebook also says it helps when cellular connection speeds are congested or slow. The Find WiFi tool is buried in the settings of the main Facebook mobile application for Android and iOS devices.
